It was released in 1969 on Atlantic Records. Unlike Covay's previous two more Southern soul oriented albums, Covay teamed with former Shirelles guitarist Joe Richardson and folk musician John Hammond in the Jefferson Lemon Blues Band, in an attempt at an underground blues rock.
