Jean Michel André Jarre born in 24 August 1948, Lyon is a French composer, performer and music producer, regarded as a pioneer of electronic music. His mastery in composition & orchestration is clearly shown in 'Equinoxe' as so many of classic analog synths come together laying out new sonic landscape previously unknown. 1, RUB. Stylistically Jarre carries on the underlying concept of Oxygene, creating a dreamlike musical universe built around melodic passages and futuristic sound experiments. As the follow-up album to Oxygene, Equinoxe offers the same mesmerizing affect, with rapid spinning sequencer washes and bubbling synthesizer portions all lilting back and forth to stardust scatterings of electronic pastiches. Using more than 13 different types of synthesizers, Jarre combines whirling soundscapes of multi-textured effects, passages, and sometimes suites to culminate interesting electronic atmospheres. Like its predecessor, Equinoxe is widely regarded as a classic within electronic music, which to date has sold around ten million copies.
