Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Album 2009 12 Songs. With Death Cab for Cuties Benjamin Gibbard trading vocals, co-writes and authoring the title track, Farrar puts and paraphrases the Beat Generation writers words from his 1962 novel Big Sur to music that is pure America, Western division. Kerouacs novel chronicles the authors mental breakdown, his growing alcoholism, his writerly attempt to right his demons amongst the dramatic environs of Big Sur, California. Beat-era writer Jack Kerouac and the troubling circumstances that inspired his 1962 novel Big Sur. Though only a few of the songs actually appear in the movie, Farrar has included 12 tunes on the album, and while they don't quite tell the whole tale of alcoholic excess and spiritual despair Kerouac set down in Big Sur, the songs honor the spirit of the author, if not quite. One Fast Move or I'm Gone: Kerouac's Big Sur is an album by Ben Gibbard Death Cab for Cutie and Jay Farrar Son Volt, released in 2009. The lyrics are based on the prose of Jack Kerouac's novel Big Sur 1962. One Fast Move or I'm Gone was a result of Gibbard's and Farrar's mutual appreciation for Kerouac's work while recording several songs for a feature-length documentary of the same name. Kerouac's sojourn to Big Sur is the subject of a new documentary by Curt Worden and a new album by Jay Farrar and Ben Gibbard, both of which are titled One Fast Move or I'm Gone. The doc is a fawning appreciation of one of the most romanticized writers of the 20th century, and it never lets the actual man obscure the accepted myth of troubled genius. Farrar actually appears in the movie, performing San Francisco while seated on the floor of a hotel room next to an unmade bed, and the scene plays like his version of rock-and-roll fantasy camp. Even so, he and Gibbard. Gibbard stayed in Big Sur to compose songs for his band's 2008 Grammy-nominated album, Narrow Stairs. For many years, Jay Farrar's songwriting has been inspired and influenced by Kerouac's compositional style. There are several interwoven aspects to One Fast Move or I'm Gone. Foremost, it's a documentary that recreates a physical canvas for Jack Kerouac's book Big Sur. Jack wrote this as he was struggling with his overwhelming fame and doing battle with a deep and destructive alcohol addiction. These Roads Don't Move Lyrics. Big Sur Lyrics. One Fast Move Or I'm Gone Lyrics. Final Horrors Lyrics. The lyrics are inspired by the text of Kerouacs 1962 novel Big Sur, in which the deteriorating author tries to cope with his literary success and alcoholism by retreating to an isolated cabin on the California coast.
