Short intro

Soft Sounds from Another Planet - Japanese Breakfast. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Soft Sounds from Another Planet is the second studio album by American indie project Japanese Breakfast. The album was released on July 14, 2017 through Dead Oceans. Nathan Reese of Pitchfork noted, Inspired by the cosmos, Japanese Breakfast's Michelle Zauner addresses life on Earth. Her voice shines over. That these subjects could coexist in the same space isnt unusual death and sex often mix, especially at the edge of human experience, but Zauners gift for connecting specific details to simple metaphor was uniquely affecting. While Psychopomp focused on the most intimate human experiences, her new album, Soft Sounds From Another Planet, uses big guitars and melancholic arrangements to address life on Earth, but it calls upon the cosmos for its perspective. In search of a soft sound from another planet In search of a quiet place to lay this to rest Striving for goodness while the cruel men win Theres no part of me left that can feel or hear it. On her sophomore album, Japanese Breakfast's Michelle Zauner seeks grounding in an unlikely place: outer space. Her evocative metaphors and hefty subject matter find lightness in shimmery, spacey electronics, most potently on the expansive, krautrock-like opener Diving Woman. She deals with femininity and sexuality in synth-pop reveries like Road Head and the Auto-Tune-enhanced Machinist, and cuts deep into trauma The Body Is a Blade and grief Till Death by finding comfort in 90s indie guitar pop, fluttering keyboards, and g. Here Come the Tubular Bells Japanese Breakfast's 'Soft Sounds From Another Planet' is less of a concept album about space exploration so much as it is a mood board come to life. Over the course of 12 tracks, Michelle Zauner explores a sonic landscape of her own design, one that's big enough to contain her influences. Soft Sounds From Another Planet' on retail CD. An objectively bad pressing unfortunately which is a shame as the mastering iteself is not half bad, the bass is brutal and the overall sound is pretty sweet. You do get an aggressive hiss throughout though with clicks and pops - I can live with that though as at a higher volume the music drowns them out quite well and again, musically the record sounds pretty great. Also it's an important record for me so I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Mine came clean out of the box and plays well.

I've just opened my copy that arrived and it was absolutely filthy straight out of the sleeve, ran it through a VC-S cleaning machine and after cleaning up it actually sounds pretty good, no hiss or noise, my system is really quite sensitive and revealing, so I won't call out it's names, just wanted to say the copy I received has no issues at all and sounds top notch.

Yours doesn’t have the right channel distortion on the last three tracks of Side A that’s well documented on this thread?

I got the pink vinyl at her show and it is a brutal pressing.

Dead Oceans has been notorious for pressing out terrible records.. They should really consider changing pressing plant. The standard black record does not sound so good. My slowdive record from Dead Oceans is also terrible

The side-b on my red version sound completely off. Weird distortion and more that I cantt really describe.

Can confirm: great record, crappy pressing. Starts off decent, but the hiss gradually grows towards the end of each side. A5 and 6 are rendered basically unlistenable

Great album, moving lyrics, beautiful voice, and entrancing music. My LP copy has a pretty savage, soft hiss though, don't know what that's about.

Yep a lot of hiss on mine as well, especially at the end of side B. It was so prominent I had to go back and check the digital version just to make sure it wasn't intentional!Glad to hear the other pressings have it to. Well, not glad, but at least I didn't spend money on an inferior version.

And here you are admitting that the colored variant has mastering flaws, even though you're over on the Interpol listing trying to make a (feeble) case for colored vinyl. Sounds like someone is a bit confused :D

My local record shop had the red in stock (but only one copy) and I was tempted to buy it to see if it sounds the same...

My LP (black) also has a lot of noise. I was going to ask for a replacement but first I searched for "japanese breakfast lp noise" and this thread came up. So, that's not promising if other people have the same issue.I really love this album - I've listened to the downloaded tracks at least a dozen times and the noise is definitely not on those. Tonight was the first time I got a chance to play the record, and I was doing other stuff so I wasn't paying complete attention but I didn't notice the noise until the last two tracks on side A. It sounded like the record was dirty but I tried cleaning the record and needle. On side B it sounded OK at first but by the end of the side it was bad again. I'll have to listen again more closely. Here's a 2.5 second snippet I recorded from near the end (3:10) of track 5 "Soft Sounds from Another Planet": https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8uOSUnuugSVN1FSeUU1X3FaODAI play it 3 times - stereo, then left channel only, then right. You can hear the noise is only on the left. Is this the same thing everyone else is hearing?Just to be sure, I put on a different album and do not hear any noise.

Same here but I thought it was down to the red vinyl. Your black is just the same? Not great. Even though it somehow does fit the music. Which is fantastic.
