As most Global Underground fans are aware, these compilations are saturated with techno and trance. Enter Mr Lavelle with his in-your-face break beats and trippy electronica. Definitely different from the previous 22 Global Underground and appreciated. My only gripe with this two disc set is how ordinary the second disc is. Disc 1 is powerful and easily tells the tale of Lavelle's careful track selection and layout. He really wanted this album to be special and. Disc 1 starts with a quality intro, by Lavelle's Unklesounds, which is the name for the joint DJ and production efforts between James Lavelle and Richard File. DJ Shadow kicks the album off together with a slamming track by Leftfield. Some production work by both Thomas Bangalter and Sotero follow, all four of these tracks take this disc on a climb with all lights pointing towards the peak ahead'.
