It's no secret that James Horner recycled his own scores ad nausuem. In a 37-year career he churned out 120 scores so, like any human, he was bound to run low on inspiration. As much as we all love his score to Commando, it is just a rehash of his work on 48 Hrs. We all admire his Oscar-nominated score to Aliens even though it is straight-up shoplifted from his score to Star Trek III. 1995 was a busy year for the composer with Balto, Jade, Casper, Apollo 13, and Braveheart getting in before Jumanji, the latter two getting Oscar noms too.
