Short intro
100 Broken Windows - Idlewild. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. 100 Broken Windows. Исполнитель: Idlewild. 2000 rock. 2000 alternative. 100 Broken Windows is the second full-length studio album by Scottish band Idlewild, released on 9 May 2000. The album showcased a significantly mellower, less distorted sound for Idlewild, with the songs being of a slower tempo than those on the punk influenced Hope Is Important. In 2008, vocalist Roddy Woomble stated that the album seems to be the record many people make a connection with. 100 Broken Windows illustrates what these four men love about music, specifically their passion for Nirvana and . Frontman Roddy Woomble is lyrically quick-witted, and his hazy, splintering vocals ache on tracks such as Little Discourage and I Don't Have the Map. Melodies are muddled, but these tracks exude the similar pain and desire found in late-'80searly-'90s punk rock. Idlewild were just kids then but were obviously affected by the sounds of Sonic Youth, the Pixies, and Fugazi. Album 2000 12 Songs. Learn More. 12 Songs, 38 Minutes. 100 Broken Windows Idlewild. Listening to Idlewild's sophomore effort, 100 Broken Windows, for the first time is the shocking musical equivalent of watching Jake saunter into the lunchroom on that fateful afternoon. Like Jake's naked form in the context of a large dining area, the sound on this record came as a completely unexpected surprise. Okay, a surprise minus the queasiness. When we bought the album, we figured we had a sure-fire predictable band on our hands- same faded cover art, same agitated song titles. But then, just when we were ready to give up on them, we pressed the play button and bang Jake. Genre: Indie Rock. Or consider a donation 5. Animal Collective. Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished. Godspeed You . Scottish quartet Idlewild first gained recognition with their first mini-EP Captain in 1997, pounding out raw garage-punk tracks behind the slightly strange vocals of Roddy Woomble. But the recorded material was over-shadowed by their erratic and violent live performances, which generally included some classic-guitar smashing and stage-falling. If there's one thing that Idlewild have misjudged on this album, it's the repetitive structure of their songs, but this one helps to clarify each piece of music from the next. Another personal favourite and if you're an Indie DJ this track always goes down well 55. About 100 Broken Windows. The classic, fan-favourite Idlewild release, now revered as one of the all-time great Scottish records. The album, produced by Dave Eranga and Bob Weston, saw the band slow their previously angular, angrier work while capitalising and saturating their melodic nods. The bands curiosities for progression was inspired by bands like The Smiths and REM, and the melding of what Idlewild were and wanted to be is exactly what 100 Broken Windows is. In 2009, northern English and Scottish culture magazine The Skinny nominated as their 1 in the Scottish Albums of the Decade. LP 12 album, 33 rpm, Import. Idlewild Format: Vinyl. The first two-thirds of 100 Broken Windows represents one of the best eight-song winning streaks I've ever heard: just when you think they can't possibly come up with another scorching guitar hook or sing-along lyric, WHAM. In 100 Broken Windows, lead vocalist Roddy Woomble and his band mates charge through an unmistakably indie music terrain with passion and brilliance to spare. You'll be hard-pressed to find a review of 100 Broken Windows that does not invoke Nirvana andor REMRelated to Idlewild - 100 Broken Windows
