I think it's finally time I reveal how to find that album's hidden track to those people who have yet to discover it. Yes, there is a TRULY hidden track on that album, not just an unlisted song at the end (though it has one of those too: Brad's surf instrumental 'Monterey Sunset'). The secret song is titled 'Whoopee Cushion'. Unfortunately you'll have to dig up one of the original CD releases to get it because for some technical reason the re-issues omitted it. O.k, let's assume you have an original australian (or U.S. version etc.) of 'In Blue Cave'. Here's what you do: as soon as track one ('Big Deal') begins, press pause on your CD player, then press rewind and go back MINUS 1 minute 17 seconds. Then press play to hear the fantastic short instrumental 'Whoopee Cushion'.

Blue Cave or In Blue Cave was the Australian rock group Hoodoo Gurus' seventh studio album. The album was nominated for 'Best Pop Release' at the 1996 ARIA Awards. The album was co-produced with Charles Fisher, who had produced the band's second album, Mars Needs Guitars, in 1985 Paul McKercher was the sound engineer and the Silverchair producer Kevin Shirley mixed the tracks. By the time the Hoodoo Gurus released their seventh album, Blue Cave, in 1996, the band had settled into a fairly predictable pattern for their records - namely, they hadn't changed their psychedelic, jangly guitar-pop much at all. Occasionally, they add louder guitars to the mix, but they are essentially the same band they were in 1986. That's not necessarily a bad thing - the Hoodoo Gurus have a way with crafting a solid hook. The problem with Blue Cave is that they just didn't come up with enough of them.
