Short intro
The group's rhythm tracks for Liquidator find new life on some of the late rock steady and early reggae vocal sides here, including Marcia Griffiths' Put a Little Love in Your Heart and Bob Andy's Peace of Mind. Other singles include Tony Scott's beautiful falsetto numbers Darling If You Leave Me and What Am I to Do and Carl Bryan's incredible alto saxophone vehicle Soul Scorcher. Harry is the fourth studio album by Harry Nilsson, released August 1969 on RCA. It was his first album to get onto Billboard Magazine's Billboard 200 chart, remaining there for 15 weeks and reaching 120. Harry features jazz saxophonist Tom Scott, pianist Mike Melvoin, flutist Jim Horn, session drummer Jim Gordon, Larry Knechtel on bass, and David Cohen and Howard Roberts on guitars. Free postage. Additional Product Features. Harry J & His Friends. Number of CDs. Harry J - Return of the Liquidator. An excellent compilation of Harry j & his Allstars music. Includes the original version of the Liquidator, a vocal version, & a version made a year or two later, slightly different. All 3 are great & obviously crucial tracks for any reggae collector. The rest of both CD's are both full of great tunes, so I highly recommend this album. Best-selling in CDs. In 1972, Harry Johnson sold his record shop and set up his own recording studio Harry J, on 10 Roosevelt Avenue, Uptown Kingston, where he employed Sid Bucknor and later Sylvan Morris as resident recording engineer. Harry J Studio soon became one of the most famous Jamaican studios after having recorded several Bob Marley & The Wailers albums from 1973 to 1976 before. Liquidator was a complete skinhead hit. 30 Skinhead reggae classics on this 2 disc set. The first disc is good but with the exception of a couple of tracks the organ music sometimes reminds me of elevator travel. Dsic 2 is a complete scorcher. Great skinhead reggae all around.
