Posthuman is the fourth studio album by the American hardcore band Harm's Way. The album was released on February 9, 2018 and marked the band's first release through Metal Blade Records. Vocalist James Pligge says the album is influenced to a smaller extent by Slipknot, but to a larger extent Triptykon and Machine Head. Harm's Way promoted the album with music videos for Become a Machine and Last Man, and online streams of Human Carrying Capacity and Call My Name. The first thing you notice about Posthuman is how it sounds as if its an inch away from your face. Harms Ways strike is tempered with the industrial elements that the band has developed from their previous album, Rust. Comparisons and influences from bands such as Godflesh, Ministry and Fear Factory are obvious across Posthuman due to the electronic samples injected into the adrenaline of this album. The philosophy of Harms Way is the best offense is as much offense as possible. The Chicago band began as a hardcore group with some powerviolence thrown in, but soon juiced it all up with beefcake breakdowns and got ready to brawl. Isolation in 2011 and Blinded in 2013 injected that hardcore with Swedish death metal while never abandoning their roots. Harms Way's metallic hardcore has won them fans on four continents their reputation for delivering blistering sets cannot be overstated, and their timely lyrics about struggle, personal growth and self-awareness leave a lasting impression upon any listener.
