Messiah: Part 1, Symphony - The Sixteen, Harry Christophers, George Frideric Handel. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Messiah - G. Handel, arr. Mozart - Huddersfield Choral Society, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Sir Charles MacKerras. Messiah HWV 56, the English-language oratorio composed by George Frideric Handel in 1741, is structured in three parts. The wordbook also called libretto or text was supplied by Charles Jennens. This article covers Part I and describes the relation of the musical setting to the text. Part I begins with the prophecy of the Messiah and his virgin birth by several prophets, namely Isaiah. His birth is still rendered in words by Isaiah, followed by the annunciation to the shepherds as the only scene. Album 2006 52 Songs. Handel Arr. Mozart: Messiah Andrew Parrott. Messiah, Part the First: Aria: But Who May Abide the Day of His Coming. Handel arr. Mozart: Messiah. Your Rating. Overview . Handel's Oratorio MESSIAH, HWV 56. arranged by W. sung in English. performed by. Lynda Russell, soprano. Catherine Wyn-Rogers, contralto. Thomas Randle, tenor. David Wilson-Johnson, bass. Harry Christophers, dir. Recording: New Broadcasting House, Manchester, 91997 TT: 54'37'' & 74'43''. at August 10, 2018. Labels: baroque, Handel, Harry Christophers, Messiah, oratorio. Harry Christophers was just reviewed in the WSJ as an expert in this type of music combined with the fact that its Mozart's interpretation of Handel's Messiah makes this a must own. Mozart added some nice clarinet and flute portions to fill out the orchestra. Amazing to me that a composer of Mozart's stature would divert himself into this venture. It occured late in his life when he had alot of pressing things to do. This is wonderful: Mozart's revision of Handel's Messiah, performed in English not German, as almost all the other MozartHandel Messiah recordings are. It's performed by the Huddersfield Choral Society and the BBC Philharmonic, conducted by Harry Christophers.
