Short intro

Playin' Up a Storm is the second studio album by the Gregg Allman Band and was released on the Capricorn Records label. It peaked at number 42 on the U. Pop Albums charts in 1977. Playin' Up a Storm was Allman's second solo studio effort, following 1973's Laid Back. It came after the breakup of the Allman Brothers Band in 1976. During this time, Allman had moved to Hollywood to live with his then-wife Cher. The album was produced by Lenny Waronker, and in his memoir, My Cross to Bear, Allman. Come and Go Blues Gregg Allman - 0:00 Let This Be a Lesson to Ya' Gregg Allman, Malcolm Rebennack - 4:47 Brightest Smile in Town Ray a way, Playin' Up a Storm doesn't really highlight Gregg Allman's strengths, since it's a little smoother and soul-inflected than his work with the Allman Brothers. Then again, that's not a problem after all, why make a solo album that's exactly like your full-time gig Consequently, Playin' Up a Storm is a well-made, expertly performed set of blues-rock, soul-pop, and straight-ahead rock & roll. There aren't any true classics here, but the thing that makes it one of Allman's best solo efforts is the terrific performances. Not only is he in. Listen album. Blues Rock. The Gregg Allman Band.
