Short intro
L is the second album by Godley & Creme. It was released in 1978. Its 34-minute running time was a stark contrast with that of the ill-received triple concept album Consequences 1977. Despite this, the album was not received well commercially. The songs contained much variation and artistry, dissonances, complex time signatures and melodies, poetic lyrics, and some echoes from Frank Zappa's Over-Nite Sensation 1973. The album was played almost completely by Godley and Creme, except for saxophones. Consequences is the debut album by English pop artists Godley & Creme. It was released in 1977 as a boxed triple-LP. Created as a concept album, it incorporates a play, with all characters voiced by comedian Peter Cook, and singing by Sarah Vaughan, who was brought into the project by Phonogram after trying to secure Ella Fitzgerald. The album was released in two abbreviated, single-album versions: an eight-track album, Musical Excerpts from Consequences 1977 and a 10-track album, Music from. Songs in album Godley & Creme - L 1978. Godley & Creme - Sandwiches Of You. Godley & Creme - Art School Canteen. Godley & Creme - This Sporting Life. Godley & Creme - Group Life. Godley & Creme - Punchbag. Godley & Creme - Foreign Accents. Godley & Creme - Business Is Business. Godley & Creme. Freeze Frame. Godley & Creme: Were an English rock duo formed in Stockport in 1977 by Kevin Godley and Lol Creme. The pair began releasing music as a duo after their departure from the rock band 10cc. In 1979, they directed their first music video with the single An Englishman in New York. After this, they became involved in the production of videos for artists such as Ultravox, the Police, Yes, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Wang Chung, as well as directing the ground-breaking video for their 1985 single Cry. The duo split at the end of the 1980s. Both have since bee. Together, these two multi-instrumentalist studio freaks were the British Frank Zappa. Overwhelmed by their own cleverness, they often wasted brilliant production and gorgeous vocal harmonies on trite material. The title of this album and a song called Sandwiches of You offer a hint of the problem. It's impossible to feel any emotional attachment to the material because of a sense that everything these guys do is tongue in cheek. This is a thoroughly forgettable outing by two chaps capable of much more. Album 1978 7 Songs. 7 tracks 34:22. Just better. The album wasn't entirely well received, however. The songs contained much variation and artistry, dissonances, complex time signatures and melodies, clever, poetical lyrics, and some wonderful echoes from Frank Zappa's Over-Nite Sensation 1973. Beautifully produced, the album was played almost completely by Godley and Creme, except for saxophones, and a brief vocal cameo by Paul Gambaccini.
