The world does not have to be the truth and letter version of 030303, as American friends of Goon told me and said cave city didgerido dancing and down in the Valley, some funky in voice to determine if you have a band and Orchestra, which can sound the falls area, look at you, look at you and green grass of garden design. Plastic Orchestra, 2012. Dance Seven, 02:33. Album starts at 102BPM, ends at 76BPM -26, with tempos within the 76-181BPM range. Try refreshing the page if dots are missing. This latest 030303 release by Global Goon takes you away, like a spaced out Aboriginal dude is blowing on his didgeridoo. Vinyl - Grab your copy. Add some bass, some funky keyboards, and experience the strong nature sensation of Plastic Orchestra, which sounds like an oozing sun in a faraway galaxy, dripping into a garden of lush pink flowers and smooth green grass. There you can lay down and listen to 'Human flute', or get up and dance like an epileptic to 'Battle of the Drohnkens'. Be sure to wear some shades: the light shining from Plastic Orchestra is so strong it's blinding. eMU Goon - Plastic Orchestra. By Guest Squawk2, February 3, 2012 in New & Upcoming Releases. Awesome album. Put it on this morning as the sun came up and sat outside drinking some coffee and smoking a spliff. I especially love the little vocal bits, in particular on

Wow, just wow. John dives into 70's cinematic tinged ambience/rhythms and the usual beautiful groove de-compresssion jams he is famous for. So new and un-abiding to to the Rephlex culture he sprang from. Note that he used to be in a band so it's not that far of a stretch for him to break away so easily. Like more of a collection of folk movie score vibes, somewhere rural and possibly on another planet. VINYL IS A MUST FOR PROPER LISTENING.

Simply wonderful record. It's hard to resist this catchy and sometimes bumpy tracks as they are getting better everytime you listen to them. The playground is much wider than in Rephlex days. Somebody mentioned the Residents here. I agree sound-wise (esp. on the B-side).
But in my ears, there is also a lot of Cluster, Roedelius here. Especially in the more tender compositions.

And shockingly, to those of us who listen to other kinds of weirdness occasionally, in addition to some very Aphexesque outings here and there, this release (and others by GG as well) manages to channel some of the instrumentation of the early to mid-80's albums of The Residents. In particular, the composer series, which relied heavily on Emulator I/II samples of real instruments.

I just love the sound of classical instruments with thought out, well placed synthy work. One of the highlights of IDM in recent years for me. It's that kind of music that reminds you that it is carefully crafted art and not just a few lines of samples run through a few filters. every sound, rhythm and melodie seems carefully created and implemented. Sounds emerge from the background, thounsands of little noises somehow manage to build an harmonic athmopshere. The more i listen to it the more it grows on me. and it already was love on the first sight.
I really want to point out my favourite aspect. On "Changing Buttress" it is imediately noticable: Just listen to the trumpet-like synthie at the beginning, how organic it is. I honestly can't tell if it is a modified real instrument or just genius synthwork here. You will experience that over and over again throughout this album. And one more thing. If i play the first track i end up playing the whole album. this is so damn rare for me, who usually pics his few favourite tracks out of a release.
One critique left: the tracks with "minko" are imho too simple compared to the rest of this album. they thus don't fit properly.

The album somehow reminds me of "melodies from mars" from aphex. just listen to "burst guitar" and tell me that it doesn't remind you of early 90s aphex tracks.

The world does not have to be the truth and letter version of 030303, as American friends of Goon told me and said "cave city didgerido dancing and down in the Valley, some funky in voice to determine if you have a band and "Orchestra", which can sound the falls area, look at you, look at you and green grass of garden design Zoo.
