Girl Talk - Feed The Animals Full Album. The White Panda - Bearly the Animals is the fourth studio album by American musician Gregg Gillis, released under his stage name Girl Talk by Illegal Art on June 19, 2008. Illegal Art originally released the album as a digital download through their website using a pay what you want pricing system. Like much of his previous work, Gillis composed Feed the Animals almost entirely using samples of other artists' music and minor elements of his own original instrumentation. Feed the Animals is the fourth album by American mashup musician Girl Talk. Illegal Art released the album in digital download format on June 19, 2008 through their website, using a pay what you want pricing system. The album utilizes 322 different samples, with some minor original instrumentation from Girl Talk himself. Genre: Mashup. As a huge fan of the recent music mashup craze, hearing that this album was one of its precursors filled me with excitement. Not gonna lie, this album had me going from beginning to end, and is one of the landmarks in the plunderphonics and mashup genres not only that, but serves a good nostalgic purpose simultaneously, delivering that oh wow I remember this moment without being obnoxious or pandering. It's a wonderful listen through and through. Girl Talk's 2006 LP Night Ripper made him the of-the-moment party starter, and now his first major release as a semi-popular act- another confluence of shameless thrills and near-overwhelming abundance- comes off like the ultimate July 4th rooftop soundtrack. For all its forward thinking, Feed the Animals has an old-school bent. First thing: It's an album. Many of Gillis' contemporaries couldn't be bothered with such an outdated concept, but by choosing the LP route- instead of, say, a monthly series of hit-blending MP3s- he's outing his traditionalist tendencies.
