Whereas the first record was psychedelic space rock acid jams, on their second album, Gila, now consisting of mostly Popol Vuh members, offered something far more sedate. Though Conny Veit was always the leader of Gila, this one comes off much more like a solo effort. The record is a concept album inspired by the book of the same name by Dee Alexander Brown that brought the plight of the North American Indians to international attention. Текст песни: Indian legislations on the desk of a do right congressman And he dont know much about the issues so he picks up the phone And asks the advice of the senator out in Indian country A darling of the energy out of 5 stars Gila - 'Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee' Garden Of Delights. Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2004. Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee' '73 was Gila's second and final studio effort, as it differs quite a bit from their self-titled 1971 debut lp. Less psychedelic space rock and MORE of just a good progressive release, I think. I love this album. Easy listening, mostly calm, yet very special and surprises you. Also the musical verses and ideas are good. On the scale of Prog-music, I would put this album in a spot I learned to love a lot - the progressive part is very subtle, and not interfere with the beauty of the music and other things that happen. The biggest problem that I had with the album, at first, was that it sounded too psychedelic, and thus dated, for a 1973 release. The music seemed to have more in common with early AMON DL II than what was going on with rock music at the time. Once I got over that fact, I was soon treated to some of the prettiest psychedelic ever made. Conny Veit reformed the band GILA with two members of Popol Vuh and released this album in 1973. Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee' is astonishing, very different to the forerunner. Songs in album Gila - Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee 1973. Gila - This Morning. Gila - In A Sacred Manner. Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West is a 1970 book by American writer Dee Brown that covers the history of Native Americans in the American West in the late nineteenth century. The book expresses details of the history of American expansionism from a point of view that is critical of its effects on the Native Americans. Brown describes Native Americans' displacement through forced relocations and years of warfare.
