He makes the piano sing throughout this set-coloring the music with exquisite tonal shadings, reflecting the changes of mood with total conviction, and providing moment after moment of revelatory beauty. This is my favorite CD for Chopin's Nocturnes. Other performers sound rushed as if they wanted to finish their piece as soon as possible, instead of savoring each key stroke.
