Short intro
Frank Zappa Meets the Mothers of Prevention is a 1985 album by Frank Zappa. The album was originally released in two slightly different versions in the US and Europe. The album's title is a reference to the lobby group, the PMRC, who were campaigning to require record companies to put warning stickers on albums they considered offensive, and to Zappa's former band, the Mothers of Invention. Frank zappas celebrated 1970 mothers lineup commemorated with unreleased 70-SONG collection of studio and live recordings for 50th anniversary. The mothers 1970 available digitally and as 4-DISC box set on june 26 via zappa recordsume. Recently unearthed song, Portuguese fenders, available to stream now. Overseen by the Zappa Trust and produced by Ahmet Zappa and Zappa. The Mothers of Invention: Frank Zappa guitar, conductor, vocals Jimmy Carl Black percussion, drums, vocals Ray Collins vocals, harmonica, cymbals, sound effects, tambourine, finger cymbals, bobby pin & importantly, the U. version of Frank Zappa Meets the Mothers of Prevention contained Porn Wars, a sound collage of excerpts from the PMRC hearings - the lobby group wanted a law instructing record companies to put warning stickers on offensive albums. The LP's title was inspired by that particular piece the other tracks don't relate to the subject and yet the version released in Europe, Japan, and Canada - which sported inverted black and white on the cover - did not include Porn Wars, but three extra tracks two on Synclavier and one rock song. Zappa RecordsUMe will next month issue The Mothers 1970, a four-CD Frank Zappa box set which features 70 unreleased tracks from the short-lived 1970 line-up of the Mothers of Invention. The band during this period last around seven months and was Aynsley Dunbar, George Duke, Ian Underwood, Jeff Simmons, and Flo & Eddie aka Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman. All recordings were sourced from their original tapes discovered in The Vault and digitally transferred and compiled by Travers in 2020. Some tracks were mixed by Craig Parker Adams and the collection was mastered by John Polito at Audio Mechanics. The Zappa Trust announced the June 26th-bound release with the newly unearthed Portuguese Fenders, a searing live instrumental boasting a fiery Zappa solo the track was discovered among other live performances Zappa recorded himself on his personal tape recorder. The release celebrates the 50th anniversary of that Mothers formerly of Invention iteration, which featured Zappa alongside organist Ian Underwood, drummer Aynsley Dunbar, keyboardist George Duke, bassist Jeff Simmons and Flo & Eddie, the Turtles Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman performing under an alias due to contract lim. Throughout the album, his music is interspersed with whacky dialogues, spoken by the Mothers of Invention and various hangers-on. In addition, the 1987 Rykodisc reissue includes thirty minutes of rather confusing film dialogue. UNCLE MEAT was originally meant to be a movie soundtrack. In my opinion, this extra half hour can safely be ignored. With or without it, UNCLE MEAT is undoubtedly a PROGRESSIVE CLASSIC.
