Short intro

A Man and His Music is a 1965 double album by Frank Sinatra. It provides a brief retrospective of Sinatra's musical career. The album won the 1967 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Instead of using the original recordings, which were made for RCA, Columbia and Capitol Records, and therefore not licensed for use by his then-current label, Reprise, Sinatra used re-recorded versions for the majority of the album's songs, culling tracks from his prior Reprise albums. Three songs were specifically. Frank Sinatra: A Man and His Music was a one-hour television special in color, first broadcast by NBC on November 24, 1965, to mark the occasion of Frank Sinatra's 50th birthday. It was directed by the multi-Emmy-winning Dwight Hemion. Frank Peppiatt and John Aylesworth were the head writers. Telecast at a time when television had just switched to full-time color programming except for feature films shot in black-and-white, the show was an enormous success, so much so that it spawned two follow-ups. Released around his 50th birthday, A Man and His Music is an ambitious double-album set that provides a brief history of Frank Sinatra's career. Though the concept sounds quite promising in theory, the execution is somewhat lacking. Instead of using the original recordings - which were made for RCA, Columbia, and Capitol, not his then-current label, Reprise - Sinatra re-recorded the majority of the album's songs. That in itself isn't bad. Many of the new versions are quite enjoyable, with lively, inspired vocals. A Man and His Music is a 1965 Reprise album that gives a narration and retrospective of Frank Sinatra's career up to the time. It is Sinatra's forty-seventh studio album. Of the thirty-two tracks, most of the earlier ones had to be re-recorded due to licensing issues. Nearly only 2000 copies of A Man and his Music were made, the majority of which were given to fans who attended Sinatra-based events in 1965. Inside each copy, was a card numbered and signed by Sinatra, himself. Songs in album Frank Sinatra - A Man And His Music 1965. Frank Sinatra - Put Your Dreams Away.
