Min Tid Skal Komme Norwegian for My Time Shall Come is the debut album by the Norwegian avant-garde metal band Fleurety. The album was re-released in 2003 with the inclusion of their EP A Darker Shade of Evil by Candlelight Records. In 2019 Peaceville Records remastered and re-released the album on CD and vinyl with the original artwork. There's no getting around it: Fleurety was a strange band, and Min Tid Skal Komme, their first full-length, is a strange album. This is clear from the opening minutes of the first track, Fragmenter av en Fortid. It begins with soft acoustic guitar strumming, down-tempo drumming, and jazzy fretless bass gurgling before slowly easing its way into more distinctly metal territory, with double-bass drumming distorted, tremolo-picked guitar playing and finally after about four minutes, grim, shrieking black metal vocals. The band was formed in 1991 by Svein Egil Hatlevik and Alexander Nordgaren. The band released their first demo Black Snow in 1993. After that came the 7 EP A Darker Shade of Evil in 1994, released via the English label Aesthetic Death Records. Both of these were in a fairly traditional Norwegian black metal style, although with very high-pitched screaming vocals, giving the band a characteristic sound. Min tid skal komme. Its safe to say that my interest in the band wasnt too ecstatic after listening to those two releases so therefore it was a great surprise when I put this album on for the first time. The style of music is still black metal but lots of melodic elements are now a part of the sound. Beautiful acoustic guitar parts, female singing and a generally great dark atmospher.
