Short intro
Tusk is the twelfth studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released as a double album on 12 October 1979. It is considered more experimental than their previous albums: partly a consequence of Lindsey Buckingham's sparser songwriting arrangements and the influence of post-punk. The production costs were estimated to be over 1 million equivalent to million in 2019, making it the most expensive rock album recorded to that date. Tusk - Fleetwood Mac. You're watching the official music video for Fleetwood Mac - Tusk from the 1979 album Tusk. The new Fleetwood Mac collection '50 Years Dont Stop' than any other Fleetwood Mac album, Tusk is born of a particular time and place - it could only have been created in the aftermath of Rumours, which shattered sales records, which in turn gave the group a blank check for its next album. But if they were falling apart during the making of Rumours, they were officially broken and shattered during the making of Tusk, and that disconnect between bandmembers resulted in a sprawling, incoherent, and utterly brilliant 20-track double album. At the time of its release, it was a flop, never reaching the top of the charts and never spawning a true. Fleetwood Mac released 'Tusk,' the experimental double-album follow up to 'Rumours,' on Oct. Leading the charge was guitarist and singer Lindsey Buckingham, whose grip on the Tusk reins would later lead to some derisively referring to the record as Lindsey's Folly. As he later took pains to explain, however, it wasn't about satisfying his ego. I was losing a great deal of myself, Buckingham later recalled of trying to create new music in the wake of Rumours. Tusk is the twelfth studio album by Fleetwood Mac, released October 12th 1979. As the follow-up to the internationally bestselling Rumours, it was created under pressure to equal that album's critical and commercial success. Reacting against expectation, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham took a greater role in production than on previous albums, recorded several tracks entirely by himself and the album was issued as a double vinyl set. Tusk is Fleetwood Macs twelfth studio album. It reached the top 10 in nine countries and spawned the three US top 20 hits Sara , Think About Me and the title track. Despite selling a million copies right out of the gate, and another million in less than a year, it was soon labeled a comparative failure to the bands two previous albums Fleetwood Mac and Rumours, which had made the band into international superstars. Buckingham insisted that Tusk not be Rumours Part 2, writing several experimental tracks on his own while dominating over recording sessions to ensure the albums sound found. Tusk album. Just better. Tusk is the twelfth studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released as a double album on October 12, 1979. it is considered more experimental than their previous albums, partly a consequence of Lindsey Buckingham's sparser songwriting arrangements and the influence of post-punk. Fleetwood Mac's beautiful and terrifically strange 1979 LP Tusk poses the question: What happens when love dissipates, and you have to find a new thing to believe in What if that thing is work.
