Crack-Up is the third studio album by Seattle-based folk band Fleet Foxes. Released on June 16, 2017 as the follow-up to their 2011 album Helplessness Blues, Crack-Up is the band's first release on Nonesuch Records. It is their first release in six years, following a three-year hiatus from 2013 to 2016. I read the essay at a time when I wasnt really sure what I cared about exactly, which is something Fitzgerald addresses a bit. I wasnt focusing on music, I was trying to find other hobbies but nothing else had quite the same pull. Beyond that, there are themes in the essay that come up a lot on the album, both lyrically and musically. Fleet Foxes' Crack-Up from the 2017 album Fleet Foxes music has grown increasingly more complex and less crowd-pleasing, Pecknolds personal trajectory has strangely aged in reverse-the old-soul serenity of Fleet Foxes gave way to the post-grad anxieties of Helplessness Blues, and now we have Crack-Up, which does not present recent Columbia enrollee Robin Pecknold in the most flattering light.
