Sumoschro For a first album, this album is incredibly intricate and textured, with a massive and varied landscape of sound. At times sweeping and atmospheric, and at others catastrophically brutal. It is a concept album concerning the story of a family in a fictional society that is torn apart by a war. The title is a portmanteau of Entropy from thermodynamics, the measure of disorder present in a system, and Utopia the ideal society. This is the only album to feature Daniel Magdic on guitar. Entropia was first released by the Japanese company Marquee on their Avalon label in August 1997 see 1997 in music. Vesper, their debut full-length, is an entirely enthralling journey that fuses the emotion and ferocity of black metal with the massive soundscapes of post-rock and the crushing riffs and structures of sludge metal. These myriad influences come together in a hugely successful way that Vesper's seemingly innocuous on-paper credentials may seem to deny it, but once in a blue moon bands like Entropia can create music that is far deeper and more involving than it has any right to be and this album is one of those rare and wonderful instances. Band Name Entropia PL-1. Album Name Vesper. Type Album. Released date 28 February 2013. Labels Self-Released Hellthrasher Productions. The sludge approach that Entropia takes is more in the form of the Post Rock crescendo and the guitar tone at times definitely has a sludgy vibe to it but the sludge never goes past a mere influence as this is stylistically Black Metal more than anything else. The added sludge elements makes the sound slightly more groovy as well and ensures it is kept interesting throughout. I also like how nothing is out of place within it and everything is meticulously crafted and finely tuned to create a fresh and exciting listening experience. Genre: Post-Metal. Or consider a donation
