Short intro

The Last Emperor is the soundtrack album for the movie of the same name. It features nine pieces composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, five by David Byrne, one from Cong Su, and a few incidental pieces of source music. The album won the Best Original Score award at the 1987 Academy Awards. Emperor is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1991, regarded as highly influential by critics and emerging black metal bands. The group split up in 2001, but reunited from 2005 to 2007 for a few festival dates and brief US tours, and again reunited in 2013 to 2014. Emperor reformed for the third time in 2016. If you don't know Emperor and are getting into them this song is great for getting into them. Unlike the Nightside version it is a lot more distorted and Ihsahns voice sounds like some insane instrument more than it does like singing.
