It was released in 1958, on Jamie Records as JLP-3000. There were five charting singles and a B-side of an additional charting single taken from this album. After releasing a couple of successful singles, Eddy released his first album, Have 'Twangy' Guitar Will Travel on January 9, 1958. It is a mix of early rock & roll, swing, country and blues, and contains several covers as well as original compositions. He and the band. First full-lenght of Duane Eddy, guitarist with a distinctive twangy sound his own description, born in 1938. He was one of the foremost 's distinctive twangy guitar style complemented the infectious dance beats of his band and drove the viewers of Dick Clark's American Bandstand television show wild, even without a vocalist. This brings up the notion that perhaps pop music fans don't always require the presence of a lead singer maybe all they look for is musical charisma, and this Eddy supplied in spades.
