Mount Wittenberg Orca - Dirty Projectors, Björk. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Why I Love: Björk - Продолжительность: 3:50 The Daily Guru Wittenberg Orca is an EP by American indie rock band Dirty Projectors and Icelandic singer and songwriter Björk, released on June 30, 2010 in digital-only format and on CD and vinyl by Domino Records on 24 October, 2011. News of the album was announced on Björk's official website on 26 June 2010, four days before its release. The vocals are dominant on all the tracks, which form an experimental and pop continuum. Mount Wittenberg Orca by Dirty Projectors Björk, released 31 October 2011 1. Ocean 2. On and Ever Onward 3. When the World Comes to an End 4. Beautiful Mother 5. Sharing Orb 6. No Embrace 7. All We Are Mount Wittenberg Orca is named so because it is about whales, it was inspired by events on Mt. Wittenberg in California, and because it elaborates on David Longstreth's obsession with vocal harmony introduced on Dirty Projectors' 2009 album Bitte Orca. This seven-song, twenty-one minute collection is the first original music the band has recorded since Bitte Orca, and it feels more l. The Dirty Projectors and Björk wanted Mount Wittenberg Orca to have a spontaneous feeling, so the EP was recorded in a matter of days, creating a fascinating tension between the intricate pieces and unstudied performances. Vocals are the main focus here, and the Projectors' female singers teeter between sweet coos and tart braying on the opening track Ocean and On and Ever Onward, which features Björk singing lead and showcases the avant-pop leanings of both acts to their finest Sharing Orb, meanwhile, contrasts her free-form singing with structured backing vocals worthy of an oper. Most fans of Dirty Projectors would agree that their best era was 2006-2013, which was the only era to have Amber Coffman on vocals and guitar. Coffmans additions took David Longstreths largely forgettable indie band and made it something special. While her vocals would typically be relegated to the background, theyd often still outshine Longstreths leads with their unique, lyricless vocalizations. Whatever the reason, Mount Wittenberg Orca lives up to most of the hype of 2009 predecessor Bitte Orca, but with a rawer, more nature-oriented atmosphere. Most of the guitar on the album is acoustic, and the atmospheric double bass occasionally shows up to hum. Considering those involved, Mount Wittenberg Orca is relatively simple and straightforward. Its easily accessible and immediately enjoyable, something that cant always be said about these two artists who like to challenge their listeners. Full Review. This album is for about 8 people, and I am one of those people Everything I love about Bitte Orca harmonies that make your legs cross they are so tight, vivid lyricism, almost awkward vocals is brought to life in a magical little project that has BJORK on it. I want this to be twice as long. The album never feels heavy, in part because of the sparse production, but also. read more. Mount Wittenberg Orca is the 7 song suite composed by David Longstreth for his band, Dirty Projectors, and Bjork. The suite was originally performed as one off benefit concert in 2009, but the work was so strong they got back together a year later to make this stunning recording. Go Unlimited. Try now. They make the questionable choices lesser artists would be afraid to, and they do it on their own clock. But their reputation for being anal-retentive and self-contained is one of the reasons Mount Wittenberg Orca- a recording of a song cycle performed last May for Housing Works, a charity and chain of upmarket thrift stores in New York- is so refreshing. Dave Longstreth, the brain and foreman of Dirty Projectors, wrote the songs in less than a month, and the group reheaRelated to Dirty Projectors + Björk - Mount Wittenberg Orca
