Desister is an independent three-piece band formed in 2012 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band consists of Franco Vaccaro vocals, guitar, Adrián Vaccaro , backing vocals and Rodrigo Chicou drums, backing vocals. In 2013 they've recorded their first homonymous EP, and with the song Vas A Caer they've resulted winners of the rock contest Vamos Las Bandas, organized by the City Government. Tejano outfit Alacranes Musical does it again with 2006's A Paso Firme. They don't do much to upset the traditional Tejano formula, and that is precisely why fans of the genre will lap up their latest release. Accordions, guitars, horns, and bouncing, danceable rhythms underpin floating, plaintive vocal melodies tailor-made for group singalongs down at the cantina.
