Recorded live in the BBC studios in London on February 19, 1970. DJ John Peel introduced the tracks as they were Purple in Concert is a live album by the English hard rock band Deep Purple, recorded by the BBC for their In Concert live series in 1970 and 1972. Sides 1 and 2 of the LP later the first CD feature the live recording from the BBC Studios in London on 19 February 1970 the band stepped in at the last minute for Joe Cocker. Deep Purple. Deep Purple were one of very few artists who could catch the excitement of a live concert on record, the quality is superb. For lovers of the classic Made in Japan set this is different enough to make essential buying. This is a must for all Deep Purple fan's out there, put your headphones on and lose yourselve. I have still a copy of the first concert done on cassette tape remember those which is good, but to see this is brilliant it put's you in the front row. Well worth it. Deep Purple - Live In Concert - Tokyo 25th March 2001. 1999 Live at the Royal Albert Hall. It is all concert footage. It is from two separate concerts, from the dates in the title. These were around the time of the Made in Japan live album, if not on the same tour. The first and main part was performed in Copenhagen and the filming is fairly poor. Really this would only be of interest to fans of Deep Purple, and although it has major faults, I suppose we are lucky that there is any footage at all surviving to this day. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful
