Short intro

Tattoo is an album released by country musician David Allan Coe, released in 1977 on Columbia Records. After his previous outlaw movement-hitching concept album Rides Again its opening track was titled Willie, Waylon and Me and was reprised halfway through the running order of crossfading songs, Coe returned to a straighter country approach on 1977s Tattoo, the title a reference to Coes menacingly inked frame. Tattoo was David Allan Coe's fifth Columbia album and displayed a return to form after the disappointing Rides Again. There was also a return to plantation for an album called Texas Moon that's long been out of print and was most notable for its cover of Billy Joe Shaver's Ride Me Down Easy. Issued in 1977, it shows Coe sticking hard and fast to his traditional country roots just as the music began to mutate into urban cowboy-ism. Songs in album David Allan Coe - Tattoo 1977.
