Darkthrones seventeenth studio album, Arctic Thunder, is a seamless, genre-hopping lexicon of death growls, doom dirges, and thrash runs as immediate as they are all-encompassing. Ever since they first slicked on the corpse paint in 1986, the seminal Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone have raged an unrelenting war on the Puritanical mores of the West: devout Christianity, blind patriotism to both God and Country, the status quos broader distrust of anything rock. When I ordered from burning shed recently for my orange copy I got two covers. One was sealed with the lp and digital download card while the other one wasn't sealed and just the cover. I don't know if I suppose to get the second orange cover or if I just was lucky? Lol

This album is a ton of fun, and man some of the riffs on here are strokes of mastery! I was actually really surprised how much I enjoyed this record, and if you haven't already heard it, give it a go! It's not essential or anything, but it's damn good all things considered. I'm not bothering with a full review because real music sites have done a far better job than I could have. Cheers! Fun album with great tunes and fucking amazing riffs. 8/10!

I think some folk got confused over this number of 300. That was the number of additional cassettes that were given away randomly and for free with pre-orders. Not sure of the actual no. of orange records there are floating around.

STILL Some sellers holding out on the "300" myth that even 889 Discogs members have announced that they own. Lol.. Maths anyone heh heh...

My orange vinyl is warped, visibly and audibly. Don't know how many others are affected. I recommend not to buy sealed copies. Sorry. The supposed "two editions" (1. = 300, 2. = ?) were consolidated on Discogs now. Wondering if we will ever know the real number, while scammers keep asking three times the new price for "strictly limited to 300" copies... But for what it's worth, my warped copy is from the second run.

I have two copies because of the site crashing during pre-ordering and yeah, the first one I opened is badly warped.

shapeshifter no it sounds great. I would've noticed if there was a problem with the sound. As far as editions go, I don't believe in this reprint theory of yours. There's probably just one orange pressing, and the number of copies was a misunderstanding between band and label. That kind of thing happens all the time. Besides, most pressing plants won't make less than 500 sleeves.

Trust me, it's a mispressing, I mean the groove, not the surface. You don't get warbling pitch from any external influences. Which edition did you get yours from? Initial or immediate "re-"print?

Basically this wasn't meant as a "limited edition". As far as I remember Fenriz favored an orange artwork and Nocturno Culto was in for the black/silver logo edition - so they agreed releasing two editions. You can consider the orange one as the "Fenriz"-edition. Nuclear Blast always does strictly limited mailorder-exclusive editions, this is no surprise the white one is only limited to 500. Usually they agree on different exclusive color editions with Napalm Records Austria.

If i had knewn that limitation fake, i had ordered the white version... Peaceville hahaha

Is there proof that this is limited to 300.. I feel the number is much higher..

Well 819 people have it so you can assume it's not limited to 300 most likely a couple of thousand.

FYI"HiI’m sorry - we don’t know exactly as this didn’t come with a numbered sticker.Coloured vinyl is usually 2,000 copies in our experience. Thanks,LisaBurning Shed [email protected]"

It doesn't say it is limited to 300. It says a limited number of 300 came with a promo tape, which automatically implies the run is larger than 300.
