After taking a few years away from the studio, Damon Krukowski and Naomi Yang return with their seventh studio album, False Beats and True Hearts, and show absolutely no signs of age, wear and tear, or deterioration. Once again working with Ghost guitarist Michio Kurihara, the duo weaves together elements of folk, psych, dream pop, and indie rock into an enchanting sound that is both fresh and comforting. As with their other work with Michio Kurihara, False Beats and True Hearts is a slow bloom, an album whose rewards can become fully apparent only through thoughtful immersion. Damon & Naomi had recorded a few tracks before the split, and these were released under the name Pierre Etoile by Rough Trade UK in July 1991. The duo then spent time working on their book publishing company Exact Change, with no plans to return to recording, until producer Mark Kramer urged them back into the studio. The resulting album, More Sad Hits was released on Kramer's Shimmy Disc label in 1992. Damon & Naomi released their seventh studio album False Beats and True Hearts on May 9, 2011, once again on their 202020 label and on Broken Horse UK & Europe. Album 2011 9 Songs.
