Crocodile Shop was formed in 1987, and released their debut album Lullaby produce by Dave Fielding of the Chameleons UK in 1988, a very dark pop oriented album. 1990 saw them grow darker with the Measure by Measure ep, but the band really hit their electro-industrial stride with the Technological Optimism ep 1993. Celebrate the Enemy was their first cd, andthe first full-length to reflect their almost all-electronic status. They followed up Celebrate with the remix album Crush Your Enemies in 1995 also on Tinman. Crocodile Shop's commercial debut finally came in 1993 with the release of the album Celebrate the Enemy on Tinman Records. The album, produced by Chris Randall of Wax Trax artist Sister Machine Gun, was a clean blend of the latest electro-sounds and mixed elements of trance, break-beat, and EBM. In 1995, Crocodile Shop signed to Metropolis Records and continued to expand their repertoire releasing the full-length albums Beneath in 1996 and Pain in 1997.
