Conrad Conny Schnitzler 17 March 1937 4 August 2011 was a prolific German experimental musicIan associated with West Germany's 1970s krautrock movement. A co-founder of West Berlin's Zodiak Free Arts Lab, he was an early member of Tangerine Dream 19691970 and a founder of the band Kluster. He left Kluster in 1971, first working with his group Eruption and then focusing on solo works. Schnitzler participated in several collaborations with other electronic musicians. Conrad Schnitzler is a sound explorer. Sounds he liked has been conserved on tape and stored in his sound library. The result is a huge library of audio files, he calls them solen. The 8 tracks form an album independent of any trend and therefore it becomes a real acoustic environment for everyone. The album was produced at . To give the album more authenticity, the complete audio processing was done using analog equipment. Conrad Schnitzler liked to embark on daily excursions through the sonic diversity of his synthesizers. Finding exceptional sounds with great regularity, he preserved them for use in combination with each other in subsequent live performances. He thus amassed a vast sound archive of his discoveries over time. When Jens Strüver, the producer of the Con-Struct series, was granted access to this audio library at the outset of the 2010 decade, he came up with the idea of con-structing new compositions, not remixes, from the archived material.
