The Hardest Part is a song by British rock band Coldplay. It was written by all four members of the band for their third album, X&Y. A piano-based ballad song, it begins with a piano melody, followed with electric guitar lines, that accompanies slow-tempo drumming. It was released on 3 April 2006 as the fourth single from X&Y. The song was released as a radio-only song on United Kingdom radio stations. It appeared on the United States Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart and peaked at. And the hardest part Was letting go not taking part Was the hardest part And the strangest thing Was waiting for that bell to ring It was the strangest start. I could feel it go down Bittersweet I could taste in my mouth Silver lining the clouds Oh and I I wish that I could work it out. And the hardest part Was letting go not taking part You really broke my heart, oh And I tried to sing But I couldn't think of anything That was the hardest part, oh, oh. I could feel it go down You left the sweetest taste in my mouth Silver lining the cloud Oh and I Oh and I I wonder what it's all abo. The Hardest Part In the Style of Coldplay. The band's singerpianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion, met at University College London and came together from 1996 to 1998. During these two years, the band changed names from Pectoralz to Starfish and, finally, to Coldplay. Creative director and former manager Phil Harvey is often referred to as the fifth member by the band. They recorded and released two EPs: Safety in 1998 and The Blue Room in 1999. The Hardest Part is the fourth single from Coldplays third studio album, X&Y. Unlike preceding singles Speed of Sound and Fix You, the track was released with only a single B-side How You See The World Live from Earls Court. Despite being released ten months after the album it appeared on, The Hardest Part was well received as a single, charting on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and internationally in countries such as Australia, Poland, Italy and Belgium.
