While he'd had incredible success prior to this album, Gate of Dreams kind of came out of nowhere and really captured everyone's fancy - straight across the board, too - jazz fans, classical fans, rock fans - it appealed to everyone. What few know is that Gate of Dreams really began its life as a ballet called Some Times, which Ogerman wrote for the ABT.
