Technical details:
This recording is the first in which microphones without preamps were fed directly into a NEXUS 28-bit A/D converter with 153 dB dynamic range. The AES-output transported 24-bits direct into a SONIC-SOLUTIONS 16-track system. Mixing and Mastering stayed in the 24-bit domain and was dithered at the last stage to 16-bit.

Williams led many exciting small-group record dates in the 1920s and '30s, so Jacobi organized a nonet to perform 19 of those selections on this disc. Most of the material is quite obscure, but it was all recorded by Williams somewhere along the way.
