Cheech And Chong is the 1971 self-titled debut album of Cheech & Chong, produced by Lou Adler. It features Dave, one of their most famous routines. The album peaked at 28 on the Billboard 200 the week of March 4, 1972. The album was nominated for Best Comedy Recording at the 14th Grammy Awards, but lost to Lily Tomlin's This Is a Recording. At Christmas that year, a single was released with Dave on the B-side and with Santa Claus and His Old Lady a sketch not available on any LPs. Los Cochinos. Cheech & Chong - Los Cochinos 1973. Following a near chart-topping smash with their second comedy album 1972's Big Bambu had climbed to an amazing number two on the Billboard charts, soon-to-be-subversive teenage role models Cheech & Chong quickly returned to action with their third effort, Los Cochinos. Released the following year, the album essentially played it safe, continuing to expand upon many of the skits and characters introduced by prior outings. Released 1973. Los Cochinos Tracklist. The Spanish term cochino is a derogatory way of referring to a pig, as it also means dirty, in contrast to cerdo, a more neutral word for a pig as an animal. In this context, cochino pig equates to the American derogatory term pig for policeman. The album cover of Los Cochinos had concept origination, design and art direction by Peter Corriston. The package design was nominated for a Grammy award
