Charles B. Moore Jnr. Charlie Moore - was born on February 13, 1935 in Piedmont, South Carolina and died December 24, 1979. Here is an interesting story a friend of mine, Chip Chipman told me a few weeks ago. Chip originally is from Williamstown, Kentucky but moved to South Caroline and now leads the Bluegrass Academy at 112 West Main St, Moncks Corner, S. He told me that he backed up Charlie Moore with his band The Five Strings Of Bluegrass, which included Steve Huber on banjo from 1974 till 1981 for a show in Maryland in November 1979. Moore put together the first version of his Dixie Partners band in 1957 and made his recording debut for Starday the following year. In 1960 Moore and Bill Napier formerly a member of the Stanley Brothers' band teamed up to form the duo of Moore and Napier, signing with King Records and recording nine albums during the '60s.
