Short intro
Perfect from Now On is the third full-length album released by Built to Spill, and the band's first major label Warner Bros. It was recorded at the Avast Recording Company in Seattle, Washington by Phil Ek. Stylistically, the album was marked by its experimentation with longer song structures, philosophical lyrics, and the incorporation of cello. Perfect from Now On is the third studio album released by Built to Spill, and the band's first major label Warner Bros. The line-up for the we explore Built to Spills winding, monumental 1997 album Perfect From Now On. This feels like the way to think about Built to Spills Perfect From Now On, which began its life being compared to avatars of the former but gets to spend eternity as an exemplar of the latter. Theres Nothing Wrong With Love the second album Doug Martsch had made with a revolving cast of bandmates under the name Built to Spill, was of its time. Perfect from Now On is the third album by Built to Spill, and the bands first major label Warner Bros. The album was essentially recorded three times. The first time, Martsch attempted to play all the instruments except drums. He and Phil Ek were dissatisfied with the results, so Martsch brought in Nelson and Plouf and recorded the album again. However, these tapes were destroyed by heat when Ek was driving from Seattle to Boise to record additional overdubs. The band rehearsed some more, then recorded the album a third time. Album 1997 8 Songs. Given a bigger budget and a bigger stage, Built to Spill responded with bigger songs than their usual lo-fi basement-bops, with most songs clocking in at over six twist-filled minutes, and turned Martsch into a guitar hero in the process. Truly epic back when that word still meant something, songs like Velvet Waltz and Kicked It in the Sun gesture at classic-rock grandeur while creating something special and enduring in its own right.
