Short intro

Текст песни: There you stood on the edge of your feather Expecting to fly While I laughed I wondered whether I could wave goodbye. There you stood on the edge of your feather Expecting to fly While I laughed I wondered whether I could wave goodbye. There you stood on the edge of your feather Expecting to fly While I laughed I wondered whether I could wave goodbye Knowin' that you'd gone By the summer it was healing We had said goodbye All the years we'd spent with feeling Ended with a cry Babe, ended with a cry Babe, ended with a cry I tried so hard. Expecting to Fly is a song written by Neil Young and performed by Buffalo Springfield. The song reached 98 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1968. The sound is great and the songs are the best of this great group from the past. If you are a fan of Buffalo Springfield I am sure you will enjoy going down memory lane. I purchased this album when it first came out, and just about wore it out playing it all the time. Say what you want about the ego's of the band members, but they really did write and play music for a generation

I first heard this as part of the soundtrack of fear and loathing in La Vegas, even in the background it demanded attention but I had heard the song many years earlier when my older brother was a big Neil Young fan, lately been listening to a lot of my brothers old favourites. Any lyrics either have to have some relevance for me or be emotive, there is something plaintive and sad in this song that strikes a chord, the orchestral intro followed by an acoustic guitar that has "the good times are over" feel to it but this song to me feels as though it is about the end of the good times.
I wonder if anyone knows anything about the original video for this song which is very simple, mainly when it was shot and where if anyone knows? ther video is shot from point of view as though you are the driver of a car driving through a winding country road at dusk or dawn, something very haunting about that video???
