Hot Dog is an album by jazz saxophonist Lou Donaldson recorded for the Blue Note label in 1969 and featuring Donaldson with Ed Williams, Charles Earland, Melvin Sparks, and Leo Morris. Hot Dog Buck Owens. Released 1988. Hot Dog Tracklist. Buck Owens' career stalled in the mid-'70s, he began concentrating on his many business ventures and investments. He seemed to be waiting for the Bakersfield sound that he helped develop to come back into style. That same year he released Hot Dog, his first album since 1976. While the snappy title track received light country airplay, it disappeared quickly. This isn't one of Owens' best albums by a long shot, but it is a fun session, with Buck covering a few rock & roll classics from the '50s Summertime Blues and Memphis Tennessee, plus a reworking of his 1959 hit Under Your Spell Again.
