Rough and Rowdy Ways by Bob Dylan CD, 2020, 2 Discs. Georg Solti 1912-1997 recorded the Bruckner Symphonies during the last 18 years of his lifecareer with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Solti has been criticized as virtuostic and brilliant, but not having the appropriate style for Bruckner. I have no problem with this recording, either sound or performance. The Chicago Symphony may not have the rich strings of the Vienna Philharmonic, for example. But they play idiomatically, and I didn't find Solti's style a distraction from Bruckner's sound world.
