Brendan Perry born 30 June 1959 in Whitechapel, London was half of one of the most successful and enduring acts in 4AD's history: Dead Can Dance. He spent 16 years searching the world for meaning and knowledge through music in partnership with Lisa Gerrard, then turned his attention to a solo record which would continue this exploration. Ark is the second solo album by Brendan Perry, the male half of the band Dead Can Dance. It was Perry's first studio album in 11 years. It was first made available to the public as part of a limited 2,000-copy autographed pre-release offered at a concert in Prague on 31 March 2010 and subsequent shows.
