Braids is an art rockelectronic band from Calgary, Alberta and currently based in Montreal, Quebec. The group formed in 2006, consisting of Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Katie Lee, Austin Tufts and Taylor Smith. Their first album, Native Speaker 2011, has received mostly praise from critics, remarkable for its innovative melodies and Standell-Preston's dynamic vocals. BRAIDS are a Montreal-based, three-piece band. Formed in 2007, they have solidified a decade-long reputation for their musical ingenuity and established themselves as one of Canadas most acclaimed art rock bands. With Standell-Prestons vocals as the pillar of their sound, BRAIDS weave organic and electronic elements together amidst a lyrical landscape that is intimate and emotionally-immersive.
