Short intro

Rare often referred to as Bowie Rare was a compilation released by RCA Records to cash in on David Bowie for the 1982 Christmas market. The artist's relations with the company were at a low Bowie had recorded his last music for RCA Records with the Baal EP, and had been annoyed by the release of a five-year-old duet with Bing Crosby Peace on EarthLittle Drummer Boy as a single without his consultation. Bowie informed RCA he was unhappy with the Rare compilation, and would sign with EMI. As it turns out, in fact, one of the supposedly rare cuts, Holy Holy, is not the original 1971 single, but the less scarce remake later used as a B-side. Too, many of the cuts were eventually issued as bonus tracks on various CDs. RARE is a 1982 compilation by David Bowie, consisting of tracks that were hard to find at the time of this release. The compilation was used as a ploy to make money over the Christmas season. After the compilation was released, some songs were discovered to be remakes and not an original. Other tracks were later issues as bonus tracks on multiple CDs. Rare Q&A. A very rare David Bowie track, Uncle Arthur is the first song of his self-entitled album that debuted in 1967. Its content bears little overt resemblance posthumous Bowie bounty will continue on April 18 with the I'm Only Dancing The Soul Tour 74 album. The artwork for the album is based on the original design for the programs that were handed out at the venues on The Soul Tour, which hit less than 20 cities in the East and South of the U. This is the first time the audio from that part of the tour has ever been officially released. In January, Parlophone announced the Record Store Day special, the nine-track ChangesNowBowie, culled from a 1996 session with longtime bassist Gail Ann Dorsey, guitarist Reeves Gabrels and producer Mark Plati during rehearsals for a 50th birthday gig at Madison Square Garden. Hear a version The Man Who Sold the World that Bowie recorded before his 50th birthday concert at MSG. To mark the occasion, Parlophone Records has announced two new Bowie releases. One of the projects is a six-track EP called DAVID BOWIE IS IT ANY WONDER that the label will release over the next six weeks. The first offering from the EP, which you can hear below, is a version of The Man Who Sold the World that Bowie recorded with Gail Ann Dorsey, Reeves Gabrels, and Mark Plati in November 1996.
