End of the Century is the fifth studio album by the American punk rock band the Ramones, released on February 4, 1980, through Sire Records. The album was the band's first produced by Phil Spector, though he had offered the band his assistance earlier in their career. With Spector fully producing the album, it was the first release that excluded original member Tommy Ramone, who in 1978 left the band but produced their previous album Road to Ruin. Spector used more advanced standards of engineering. Boris the Sprinkler openly admit during the long intro of Rock 'n Roll Radio that what they're covering is one of the worst Ramones records ever released. Not that Rev. Norb and company are wrong by any means, but they certainly don't improve upon End of The Century. Seriously, why would a band re-record an album in it's entirety when it was already perfected the first time around That would be just like re-shooting the movie Psycho scene for scene only with a gen-x touch to it. The liner notes were written by Boris the Sprinkler singer Rev. Nørb in April 1997 In them, he claimed that Boris the Sprinkler had originally been slated to cover 1978's Road to Ruin, which was the next Ramones studio album after Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, but while he felt that half that album is totally great, and cannot be improved upon by mere mortals, the other half is utter dreck that. Boris the Sprinkler is a punk band that formed in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1992, known for their zaniness and abnormality. Their aesthetic seemed to borrow from Devo and they display a xerox sci-fi bizarro style reminiscent of Buckaroo Bonzai. They also are fringly associated with the queercore movement of the ninetiesRelated to Boris The Sprinkler - End Of The Century
