Short intro

Origami Sound. Borealis - Glittervoice Album Preview - Out November 18. Glittervoices 16 tracks encompass everything from visceral warehouse techno to stylish ambient compositions via rapid hypnotic drum loops and trance synths of cosmic proportions, all filtered through his unique etherial aesthetic. His sophomore album is getting some early support from Jamie XX, Dubfire, Kuedo, Unkle, Tensnake, Shadow Child, Alan Fitzpatrick, Claude VonStroke, Maceo Plex, Damian Lazarus, Sei A & Richie Hawtin among many others. Coming out November 18. Listen free to Borealis Glittervoice Dreamgun, Moll-E and more. 16 tracks 69:58. This album has definitely struck a nerve for me though, at least in a way that hasn't happened in a very long time. While Jesse's approach to techno is almost exclusively experimental, and at times a little too abstract, this album clearly reaches out to the broader trance and progressive house audience and not in a bad way either. A lot of experimental techno can sound washed out and at times lifeless, which is not to say that it has no purpose, but when compared to the emphasis of emotion that's been put into each track here, it's a nice change. Glittervoice is Somfay's most energetically intense work to date. The emergence of Borealis meant an unexpected turn for Somfay, but at the end of the day, much like its worthy genre-defying predecessor, Glittervoice is yet another album not of this reality - a sonic guide to entering full-length songs from Glittervoice by Borealis on your phone, computer and home audio system with voted, Please vote. It is both euphoric and dysphoric and the music itself cannot be pigeonholed into any particular genre - hints of techno, oldschool trance or rave complement each other just to ultimately get lost in an artfully crafted trademark sound. No matter who you are, if you fall into some settlement of electronic music, you're bound to find something you'll like from Jesse Somfay. This album has definitely struck a nerve for me though, at least in a way that hasn't happened in a very long time. While Jesse's approach to techno is almost exclusively experimental, and at times a little too abstract, this album clearly reaches out to the broader trance and progressive house audience; and not in a bad way either. A lot of experimental techno can sound washed out and at times lifeless, which is not to say that it has no purpose, but when compared to the emphasis of emotion that's been put into each track here, it's a nice change. From start to finish, "Glittervoice" drips with atmosphere and feels somehow essential to a much greater picture, like a life story or poem. Practically comprised entirely of a single detuned synth, a huge amount of compression and intelligent percussion manipulation, this compilation sings big and sings loud while maintaining its rich and groovy bass-lines. Truly an exquisite piece! The only real complaint I have about this album, is simply "Snow Resin." At its heart is an incredible deep track, but is unfortunately drowned out by one of the most irritating noise samples I've heard in a while. If only I could get my hands on a much cleaner version of the track...
