Book of Love is the self-titled debut studio album by American synth-pop and electronic band Book of Love, released on April 1, 1986, by Sire Records. PhiladelphiaNew York-based synthpop quartet Book of Love released their eponymous debut, Book of Love, in the spring of 1986, when synthpop was at its peak in the mid-'80s. During 1984 and 1985, the band recorded various demos at the recording studio Noise, in midtown Manhattan. One of the demos was the song Boy, a toe-tapping tale of teen-girl angst. Book Of Love. I love Book of Love they have to be one of the best of the unknown groups of the 80's. This album has got some awkward tracks on it unlike their next two albums: Lullaby and Candy Carol which is them at their absolute best. I can now appreciate that they were trying to get a feel for what their strong points were as a group at the time. Although I am a big fan I found this particular album to be lacking their usual cleverness and creativity.
