Grown out by his mentor Sam Cooke, Womack became one of the true stylists of his generation, and one of the few with staying power. Only Barry White and the late Curtis Mayfield could make the same claim. I had two Bobby Womack albums back in the day, so quite a few of these songs I already heard of and jammed to. Quite a few I've never heard, but, all in all, it was a total throwback moment for me.
