Short intro

Bob Marley began his singing career with a band called The Wailers, which he formed with the singer Neville Livingston and musician Hubert Winston in 1963. However, after a long run, the Wailers disbanded in 1974 and Marley went on to start a solo career and moved to London. In 1977, he released his album Exodus, which became a huge step in establishing his name internationally. He became one of the best-selling artists in history, with his record sales reached above 75 million. His singles such as One Love and Jamming remained on the UK hit list for quite a while. The song also appears on the compilation album Legend. The song was re-released 10 years later as a tribute to Bob Marley and was again a hit, as in the Netherlands, where it was classified in the charts for 4 weeks. In Jamaican patois the word jamming refers to a getting together or celebration. It is still receiving moderate airplay from adult alternative stations. In the 1981 Rolling Stone obituary, Bob Marley biographer Timothy White wrote, The pervasive image of Bob Marley is that of a gleeful Rasta with a croissant-sized spliff clenched in his teeth, stoned silly and without a care in the world. But the group worked hard to nail the definitive album version. One alternate take from the Jamaican sessions had more of a soul groove another, cut in New York in the summer of 1973, when they were in town to play Maxs Kansas City with Bruce Springsteen, had a busier vocal arrangement
